Increasing the quality and rate of MultilayER packaging recycLINg waste

Project

MERLIN project aims at designing innovative solutions for all the processes required to increase the quality and rate of recycled plastic materials coming from multi-layer packaging waste

Objectives

• Develop and promote the processes for the recycling of plastic
• Reduce the consumption of raw materials
• Increase the knowledge in closing the plastic chain
• Push consumers to use packaging from recyclable materials

Workplan

A workplan consisting of 8 Work Packages (WPs) has been designed for implementing the R&I activities necessary to realise the project objectives and ensuring the innovation impacts.

Partners

The MERLIN project will increase the quality and rate of MultilayER packaging recycLINg waste, by putting together a partnership to design cradle-to-cradle solutions to recycle multi-layer packaging between sorting technology providers, a waste management company, industry and research experts on delamination and recycling, SMEs service providers, packaging industry for flexible and rigid and a European Packaging Association, offering expertise on standardization and policies.
